I write as a committed Republican voter from Texas. Our state is among the most pro-Trump in the country, and we expect our leaders to vigorously defend his legislative and electoral agenda. Inaction or half-measures now will not be tolerated by many of us—Texans will not support representatives who fail to deliver on what Trump and the GOP base expect.
The special legislative session currently underway presents a unique opportunity to redraw congressional maps in a way that can deliver multiple new GOP-leaning districts ahead of the 2026 midterms. This is more than strategy—it is essential for preserving Trump's agenda in Washington, including judicial appointments, policy priorities, and conservative governance.
Critics are already casting this effort as partisan overreach. But in states where anti-Trump operatives and national Democrats are organizing against Republican priorities, Texas must act decisively and proactively. Delays, internal resistance, or concessions within redistricting committees only weaken our ability to deliver results.
Trump has made it clear: he views this redistricting as critical to holding the House. Failing to follow through not only undermines his influence—it risks handing control to the Democrats in 2026. Texas House Republicans must stay united, focused, and unwavering.
Please take this vote seriously. Texas voters—and President Trump—are watching. The state must demonstrate leadership and loyalty, not hesitation.
